Dixie Caps are easily installed. See our STEP BY STEP instructions below. You must first access the injector wiring, where each injector plugs into the wiring connector. Disconnect the connector from the injector. Use a small awl or similar tool to gently separate the insulation from the injector wire. Slide each wire from the Dixie Cap between the injector wire and the insulation. Spray silicone will aid in installation. Use needle-nosed pliers to gradually work each wire until it makes contact with the injector wiring terminal. Reconnect the injector connector to the injector.
• Fuel injection systems that do not allow easy access to injectors will require additional labor.
• Verify proper connection has been acheived. Key on, Engine off, check each exposed Dixie Cap wire with test light. In cases where injectors are easy to test, this check may be performed with the engine running. When testing only contact, test light to Dixie Cap wire for no more than 2 seconds.
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Disconnect the injection connector from the injector.
2. Use small awl, ice pick, or test light to gently separate the insulation from the injector wire.
3. Slide each wire from Dixie Cap into each wire from back of the injector connector. Spray silicone will aid in installation.
4. Use needle-nosed pliers to gradually work each wire until it makes contact with injection wiring terminal. Be careful not to bend the Dixie Cap wire.
5. Reconnect injector connection to injection.
6. Verify proper connection. Check with key on, or if possible, while engine is running.
7. Congratulations! Product is installed.
