Dixie Caps Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will Dixie Caps work on my vehicle?
A: Dixie Caps will work on any injector that has 2 wires connecting to it. This works on most makes and models. However, the GM Vortec models 1996 – 1998 have the injectors under the intake manifold, and Dixie Caps will not work on this application.
Q: How many Caps will my vehicle require?
A: One Dixie Cap per fuel injector.
Q: How long will the Dixie Caps last?
A: Dixie Caps will last for the life of the engine. We installed Dixie Caps on some of our vehicles 15 years ago, and they are still performing and improving gas mileage.
Q: What kind of improvements should I expect from Dixie Caps?
A: Most people notice improved gas mileage of 1 – 3mpg, along with a smoother idle and smoother acceleration. Different driving habits will affect these results; one customer actually documented a 6 mpg increase in fuel efficiency!
Q: What kind of warranty do Dixie Caps carry?
A: We will warranty the Dixie Cap to be free of defects 30 days from date of purchase. If Dixie Caps fail within this time period, return defective part and we will exchange it at no charge.
Q: How does the Dixie Cap work?
A: The Dixie Cap is a specially designed capacitor. It helps round the highs and lows in a digital electrical circuit (the injector circuit). In effect, it can reduce lean as well as rich conditions resulting in a more efficiently operating engine and improved gas mileage.
Q: Are Dixie Caps difficult to install?
A: Installation is generally very simple. Refer to the instructions page on our website.
Q: Would installing Dixie Caps affect the existing warranty on new vehicles?
A: Dixie Caps in no way void the manufacturer’s warranty. It does not defeat or bypass any emission controls. In most cases, it may even reduce emissions.
Q: I am from outside the United States. Can I order Dixie Caps?
A: Send a money order or certified check for US$4.99 for each injector plus US$10.00 for shipping and handling to the us.
